Santa Jim display

‘Tis the Season to be jolly! There will be lots of merriment and good cheer this holiday season at the Santa Claus Museum & Village. Admission to all events are free, though donations are encouraged.

Letters to Santa

From December 1 – December 21, 2012, children of all ages can take a seat at an antique school desk in the original Santa Claus Post Office and write their letters to Santa. Though Santa and his Elves sure are busy this time of year, they always make time to write back to each and every letter! And our very own Christmas elf will be on-hand to spread Christmas cheer and help you draft your wish list to old Saint Nick.

A Merry Little Christmas Celebration

On December 15th, from 1 pm to 4 pm, we’ll host a grand opening of this newly restored, historic Post Office during our Merry Little Christmas celebration. Santa’s daughter, Mrs. Koch, will cut the ribbon and stick around to sign copies of the Santa Claus Museum Cookbook. If you’re looking for the perfect Christmas gift, you can’t go wrong with this wonderful collection of local recipes. Over at the historic 1880 Santa Claus Church we’ll have Christmas carols throughout the afternoon. And if you’ve ever wondered how the town of Santa Claus received its name, you won’t want to miss storyteller Susan Fowler’s presentation. Make sure you also take the time to decorate an ornament and string some popcorn – we have a great big Christmas tree to trim!

**NEW EVENT**

On Saturday, December 8th at 2:30 PM, Santa Claus native Nathan Held will give an organ concert in the Santa Claus Church. The beautiful, historic organ has sat in the church since the 1800′s. Listen to holiday carols as you wander through the Church and enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations. This is an informal concert and you are welcome to sit and listen, or just stop by for a brief visit. As always, the Post Office and Santa Claus Museum will also be open for visitors, and for those wishing to write a letter to Santa.

Harps for the Holidays

The Tri-State Harp Ensemble will present their annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 16, from 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm in the historic Santa Claus Church in Santa Claus, IN.  This ensemble of ten harpers and harpists was founded in the fall of 2009 and shares beautiful harp music with the community in twice-yearly concerts.  The harps played range in size from 26-string lap harps to 47-string concert grand pedal harps, and the group is made up players of all ages from around the tri-state area.  The concert will feature sacred and popular Christmas music.  Admission is free, and visitors are welcome to stop in and enjoy the music throughout the hour.

Daily Visits

Stop by for a visit anytime during December and enjoy our beautiful Christmas decorations. Take a stroll through the museum, which showcases the history of our town and area attractions. See what children of yesteryear might have found beneath their Christmas trees and read through our collection of letters to Santa that date back to the 1930s. Our Museum gift shop offers a wide selection of great stocking stuffers and locally made items, including wine glasses, candles, ornaments, soaps, and more. The Santa Claus Church and Post Office will be open, and feel free to wander up the short walking path up to the newly restored Historic Santa Statue, dedicated to the children of the world. We think it’s a perfect location for your Christmas cards!

Please fix the typo in Letter #2 from Santa. Received not recieved. Thank you. I plan on using that letter for my girls. They are really good at spelling and I don’t want them to think that Santa mispells. Thank you.
